Wine Tour with Maurizio Anfosso of Ka Mancine
Michele Boscia
It was so exciting to get to see one of the very few producers that most of staff has not yet visited. The wines of Ka Mancine are enigmatic and enchanting and today we learned why. To start, the vineyards are practically inaccessible due to their position as some of the highest in the appellation, near the seacliffs of the Ligurian coast. It takes three times as much labor (read: costs three times as much) to produce these wines as it does to produce Brunello di Montalcino and they are a fraction of the price of Brunello. I’d rather drink Ka Mancine’s Rossese di Dolceacqua over Brunello any day of the week!
